we have an older very faithfull elder body and whenever they talk about armegeddon or the end of this system of thiings, they always use "very near, close, soon, etc".
well on the stage one elder when talking about the great tribuation this week , he said "possibly in our lifetime" !!!
that really caught my attention and even my wife's too!
"Mr. Splane of their Governing Body said that it may not happen in our lifetime, that it may not happen for thousands of years"
Was this said recently? Maybe the GB is up to something? I'm thinking of 2014 and possible changes in interpretation/chronology.

"he AAWA website is down for maintenance. "
Yes, I noticed. It's probably down for 48 hours. Maybe something is happening?

That's sad Sic! A lot of people have tried to make the AAWA delete that group, but they did not listen.
I don't understand one thing. How do the AAWA think. They know that there are pro-WT apologists in that group...and they have no problem with that fact...no problem with potential outings and no problems with potential moles? Everything is just great.
i have had some "friendly" conversations with people on my coninuing fade journey.
i realize that isn't always wise, but they are all non-related to each other, and we keep it light.
even my brother got in the mix.
"So what comes next is the debate over Gods "chosen people". The justification seems to go like this. "If you obey the GB but they are wrong, they are accountable and have a weightier judgement, if you disobey them, you have gone against the annointed of jehovah and it doesn't mattter if you are right." "
I think this is spot-on JW rank and file psychology. They have been so manipulated not to think and question, just to obey. But beeng so outright that it's not a question of right and wrong is unique. One would expect that being right has someting to do with the "truth". :)

OK! We have seen Cedars acting in this thread. I just wonder about the rest of the board..they seem to keep silent.
If there still is a board.....they would better take action.

Interesting observation. Why didn't they put it as start of the last days?

"a watcher - Why are you still posting here. Don't you know this is an apostate website?
And according to the watchtower, it apears that I have time between when the tribulation starts and the start of armageddon."
Yes, Watcher must be an apostate. he/she is contradicting what's published in the latest study article! :-)
(the watchtower, october 1, 1984, p. 24).
...resurrected in 1925 to rule as princes over the earth.
(millions now living will never die, 1920, pp.
I think that Germany was supposed to be the "King of North" in those days. Probably the start of WWII was considered the start of the tribulation for Rutherford as the WWI war the start of tribulation for the Russel contemporaries.
But Rutherford making an ass of himself was related to 1925 and the "Millions" campaigne.
i have only posted on here several times, but i am constantly reading what others post.
i guess i am more of a reader than author.
that being said i am happy to announce i am no longer one of the jehovah's witnesses.
I do think this is very logical. What the org feares most is apostacy. There could be some troubles with sexual relationships, drinking, drugs, etc....even paedophilia. But these things doen't threat the power of the organisation. But doubts and "apostacy" does.
This shown that the main reason of those committies is to protect the organisation, not the individual JW.
